Art Bronze Sculptor

Artistic Approach

Since 2007, Lionel Hamon has had time to explore classic manufacturing techniques. In 2022, it was only when his workshop reopened that he was able to deconstruct and reforge his own production methods. The works he creates today are witnesses to the deep relationship he has with craftsmanship and the natural world. The works created in his workshop are assembled from reproductions of elements from the natural environment. Each bark, each leaf and each element has its own identity, which makes each work unique. The elements are reproduced at their original scales. The imprint is frozen in the work. This artistic approach aims to awaken the detail of nature, thus reestablishing the dialogue between the work and the viewer. Nature is not only his source of inspiration but also his work colleague, these are creations that they make together. Each print collected in nature gives a different expression depending on the location, the type of species and the age of the subject. A young 10-year-old oak will not have the same appearance as a hundred-year-old oak. It is this print, this character, that he integrates into his sculptures. His work uses our environment, he gives it a medium of expression through his know-how; they achieve this together, as a duo.
